Attractions Recommended by Locals

RegPatong's pulsating nightlife never fails to attract curious visitors every evening. Like a magnet, it's hard to resist a wander down Soi Bangla - the heart of the bar scene where neon lights and deafening music compete for your attention. Over a hundred bars A Go Go, Tiger disco , pool tables, muay thai, where the only priority is to have a good time.

Patong Beach

Patong's three-kilometre strip of golden sand is probably the most popular beach in Phuket. It's a place to watch the world go by amidst a hive of activity, with parasailing and jet ski operators, boat drivers, beach vendors and masseuses all vying for the attention of the many visitors relaxing on the beach

Bangla Road

Bangla Road really comes to life once the sun sets. The road is closed to vehicle traffic and becomes a 400 metre festival of neon lights, loud music and cheap beer. Jammed most nights of the year, it is quite a friendly and lively place to walk around as bars and clubs compete with each other for customers.

Karon Beach

Karon Beach is, at 5 km in length, the third longest in Phuket, with fine white sand that squeaks when you walk on it throughout its entire length. At the north end, in front of the lake, the beach is usually deserted, making it a great spot to go if you want the beach to yourself.

Kata Beach

Kata Beach is especially well-suited to those who like some activity and excitement. The beach is popular with surfers, though you only get good waves in the low season. During the high season, there are great spots for snorkelling and diving, among other activities. On land, Kata has more stunning views than anywhere else in Phuket.

Jungceylon Shopping Mall

Standing downtown, diagonally opposite Bangla Road, the Jungceylon Shopping Complex has radically changed the face of shopping in Patong. The two main stores in the complex are Robinson - a gleaming well-lit upper end department store, and Big C supermarket.

Banzaan Market

Many visitors will enjoy exploring Banzaan Market in Patong, a modern-looking Thai fresh market on Sai Kor Road, right behind the megamall Jungceylon. Basically, you can get anything that one would expect from a local market here but in a much more pleasant environment. Prices are reasonable.
